Malawian Evangelist Calls for Unity, Moral Leadership Amid National Challenges

KARONGA, Malawi— A prominent Malawian evangelist has urged for unity and ethical governance as the nation faces mounting socio-economic and political difficulties, writes Lusekero Mhango.
Linly Mbeta, an evangelist with the Blantyre Synod, made the appeal Friday during a four-day Evangelical Mega Rally at Kabwiri CCAP congregation in Karonga.
"Our country is facing many challenges, including economic hardships, corruption, and accidents, and it is only by turning to God that we can overcome these difficulties," Mbeta said.
She emphasized the importance of prayer in addressing national issues and called for divine intervention as Malawi approaches its 2025 General Elections.
"As we move towards the elections, let us pray for peace and unity. It is crucial that we maintain harmony and stability in our nation," Mbeta added.
Fellow evangelist Zuanji Mtunduwatha echoed these sentiments, urging those in power to prioritize God in their decision-making.
Rev. Paul Mahowe, Parish Minister for Kabwiri CCAP, praised the rally's role in promoting national unity and spiritual resilience.
The gathering highlights the significant role of faith-based initiatives in Malawi's national development and the potential for collective prayer to effect positive change.
