Malawi University Closes 2024 Enrollment

Mzuzu University is a public university located in the northern region of Malawi, catering to several thousand students across various colleges and departments.

MZUZU, Malawi— Mzuzu University has stopped accepting new students for the 2023-2024 academic year after an extended registration period ended this week, the school's registrar announced Wednesday, writes Staff Reporter.

"This is the final announcement on the matter and there will be no further communication regarding registration for 2023/24 Academic Year," Yonamu Ngwira, Mzuzu University Registrar, wrote to students and faculty.

Ngwira said late registration closed Tuesday, meaning the university will turn away any additional prospective enrollees hoping to start classes this term.

Ngwira said non-registered students can apply for a one-year deferment to hold their place.

But he emphasized that Mzuzu University closed the books on 2023-2024 enrollment as of Jan. 3.
