LILONGWE, Malawi- Creck Sporting Club has appointed Malawian soccer legend Josephy "Shakira" Kamwendo as assistant coach ahead of the upcoming season, writes Alinafe Nyanda.
Kamwendo, a former star midfielder, will work under head coach MacDonald "Nginde" Mtetemera at the newly promoted TNM Super League club. He was officially unveiled last Thursday.
"Being assistant coach at this ambitious team is a huge responsibility," Kamwendo said.
"With the help of the head coach, patron and board, it's a job I will excel at."
The move continues the 37-year-old's rapid rise into coaching since retiring as a player in 2019.
