Malawi President Assigns Minister of Defence to Attend State Visit by Zimbabwe's President
Malawi President Lazarus Chakwera has assigned Minister of Defence Harry Mkandawire to attend the state visit by Zimbabwe's President Emmerson Mnangagwa, writes Tionge Hara.
Lilongwe, Malawi— Malawi President Lazarus Chakwera has assigned Minister of Defence Harry Mkandawire to attend the state visit by Zimbabwe's President Emmerson Mnangagwa, writes Tionge Hara.
The visit is scheduled from Wednesday, May 31 to Friday, June 2, 2023.
Mkandawire will accompany President Mnangagwa throughout his visit and stay in Malawi.
Mkandawire said that Malawi and Zimbabwe have had a close history and good diplomatic relations for a long time, which needs to be sustained.
He also observed that both countries share common values, economic ties, history, and culture, which are crucial for social and economic transformation.
Details regarding President Mnangagwa's program are yet to be released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
