Malawi MP Urges Graduating Students to Pursue Dreams, Set Goals
As part of her support for the graduates, Ganda provided each of the 48 students with K20,000, a mathematical instrument, and a pen.
NSANJE, Malawi— Gladys Ganda, Chairperson of Malawi's Parliamentary Budget and Finance Committee, encouraged graduating secondary school students to pursue their dreams and set focused goals during a ceremony Sunday at Kalambo Community Day Secondary School (CDSS) in Nsanje district, writes Cornelius Lupenga.
Ganda, who is also the Member of Parliament for Nsanje Lalanje, told the outgoing Form Four students that completing secondary education is just the beginning of their journey.
"You should have a good plan and you should have to adhere to it accordingly for you to achieve your ambitions," Ganda said, emphasizing the importance of setting time frames for each step in their plans.
Harry Lambiki, Headteacher at Kalambo CDSS, praised Ganda's participation, describing her as a role model for students in Nsanje Lalanje.
"We wanted our students to emulate her achievements as a Member of Parliament, former banker, just to name but a few credentials she has," Lambiki said.
Macdonald Jonas, one of the graduating students, expressed his satisfaction with his academic progress, noting that he had secured the top position in the school's MSCE Mock Examinations despite initial concerns about his school placement.
As part of her support for the graduates, Ganda provided each of the 48 students with K20,000, a mathematical instrument, and a pen.
The event highlighted the importance of education and mentorship in shaping the future of Malawi's youth.
