Malawi MP Partners with Foundation to Feed 1,000 Needy Households
The distribution comes as many households in the area struggle with seasonal economic challenges.
DOWA, Malawi -- Member of Parliament Halima Daud and Darussunnah Foundation distributed food relief Tuesday to more than 1,000 vulnerable households in Dowa South East constituency, writes Abraham Bisayi.
The initiative provided maize flour, soya pieces, and other essential items to families facing food insecurity in the region.
"It is our responsibility as leaders to ensure that no one in our communities goes to bed hungry," said Daud, who represents the constituency.
"I am grateful to Darussunnah Foundation for their support in making this initiative possible."
Daud called for additional support from well-wishers to address ongoing needs in her constituency.
Abdul Rahman Chowe, executive director of Darussunnah Foundation, emphasized the value of cooperative efforts to combat hunger.
"We are honoured to collaborate with leaders like Halima Daud who prioritise the well-being of their people," Chowe said.
"Together, we can make a difference."
