Malawi Government Committed to Enhancing Education Quality in Secondary Schools

SALIMA, Malawi — Director of Secondary Schools in the Ministry of Education, Dr. Florida Banda, has reaffirmed the government's dedication to supplying learning resources to secondary schools across the country, writes Fegson Phabuli.
The objective is to improve the quality of education and contribute to the nation's advancement.
Dr. Banda made these remarks during the annual general meeting and 30th-anniversary celebration of Chipoka Secondary School, held in Salima on Saturday.
In her address, Dr. Banda encouraged students to adopt a positive mindset and distance themselves from disruptive behaviors such as riots, which hinder educational progress.
She emphasized the government's commitment to education, saying, "We are determined to enhance the quality of education in our secondary schools and equip our students with the knowledge and skills they need for a brighter future."
Linda Chiumia Chimombo, National Coordinator for Chipoka Secondary School Alumni Association (CHISSA), called on authorities to provide support to the school. She emphasized the urgent need for a perimeter fence to enhance student security.
Chimombo stated, "We appreciate the government's support in our efforts to improve education at Chipoka Secondary School, but we urge them to prioritize the safety of our students by completing the perimeter fence as soon as possible."
As part of new developments, Chipoka Secondary School is constructing an ICT and science laboratory with government support.
