This significant milestone in the cannabis industry is set to bring substantial economic benefits to Malawi.
Dr. Alfred Mwenefumbo, the Controller of Agriculture Extension and Technical Services and overseer of the Private Sector Mega Farms Programme implementation strategy in the Ministry of Agriculture, confirmed this historic achievement.

Within the next two weeks, the government anticipates receiving results from another Macedonian off-taker, instaDose, which is one of the potential buyers of Malawi Gold Cannabis biomass.
These results will follow the extraction and testing of crude cannabis products, providing crucial insights into the quality and marketability of Malawi's cannabis products.
Mwenefumbo acknowledged the pivotal role played by the Cannabis Regulatory Authority and the Malawi Police Headquarters in facilitating the export of 15,000 kg of Malawi Gold Cannabis biomass.
He commended their unwavering support and dedication throughout the process.
"The Inspector General of the Malawi Police Service and personnel from the Cannabis Regulatory Authority deserve our commendation for their invaluable support, which enabled the smooth exportation of our cannabis production," stated Mwenefumbo.
He also revealed that the extraction of crude cannabis products has already commenced under the supervision of instaDose. Successful outcomes from this process will pave the way for collaboration with reputable pharmaceutical companies in Europe.
These companies are expected to place official orders, which will play a pivotal role in determining the specific production volumes that Malawi can accommodate.
As part of the Mega Farm implementation strategy, the government intends to expand its production by venturing into the cultivation of outdoor Malawi Gold Biomass in the upcoming season, aiming to further scale up production and capitalise on the burgeoning cannabis market.
