Malawi Deputy Minister of Health Praises International Partners for Health Service Improvement

California, US— Malawi Deputy Minister of Health Halima Daud says mutual relationship between government and donor partners has created a significant change in minimizing the morbidity and mortality rate resulting from the disaster and outbreak through initiation of a cluster response mechanism, writes Abraham Bisayi.
Daud made this statement on Thursday during the 2023 Global Healthcare Conference at Loma Linda, California in United States of America.
The conference has been designed with focus on understanding the collaboration of health institutions and government on improving health service delivery.
Daud said in the wake of Covid-19, Cholera and Polio, government has worked hand in hand with donor partners in provision of effective coordinated, timely health interventions and services to affected population with targeted vaccination campaigns in control of these diseases.
“As Malawi’s Deputy Minister of Health, I am delighted to see the potential for growth that we have in the field of medicine. It is through collaborations such as these that we can make significant strides in improving the health outcomes of our people,” Daud said.
Daud further disclosed government’s commitment of establishing center of excellence to ensure that there is reduction of patients requiring cardiac treatment abroad through the provision of the service in the country.
Dr. Richard Hart, Loma Linda University Health and Adventist Health International President in his welcoming note, emphasized the need of collaborations and unity amongst participants to broadly share best practices that can help in improving the health service delivery globally.
The conference is being held under the theme reflections, renewal and resolutions attended by leaders representing Adventist Health International (AHI) Institutions and other Seventh - day Adventist hospitals and schools of dentistry, medicine, nursing, and pharmacy from around the world.
