Lulu & Mathumela Band back with Mathumela Festival this December
Message to all those planning to attend: This is a family festival, so they are encouraged to bring everyone in their families.
Malawi: Lulu and Mathumela Band are back with another big festival called Mathumela Festival, which will be held on 10 December at Masintha Ground at Kawale in Lilongwe, following the successful launch of One More Time album in October, which drew both local and international artists.
Lawrence Kwisa (LULU), the founder of the Mathumela Festival, stated that he created the festival as a way of giving back to the people of Kalawe, where he grew up, and to provide a platform for emerging artists to showcase their talent.
"When I was new in music circles, I struggled a lot to be known to the public because the veteran musician at the time was not giving me a platform to showcase my talent," said Lulu.
This year's show will feature both veterans and emerging b artists, allowing emerging artists to learn from veteran artists.
Lulu went on to say People can expect new songs from my album as well as a very good show from the Mathumela band and other experienced musicians with a good music sound as they celebrate the Manthumela Festival.
He said: “As a member of the Mathumela Band, I want to reassure our fans that we will continue to spread the message of hope and encouragement and that more music is on the way. Those who have never seen Lulu and Manthumela Band perform should bring their families to witness the beauty of the Malawian arts.”
Message to all those planning to attend: This is a family festival, so they are encouraged to bring everyone in their families.
Those who have never attended will say that this is their chance to attend one of the best festivals, and they should come in large numbers, according to Lulu.
Skeffa Chimoto, Madalitso band, Waiting Brothers Macelba, Gwamba, Temwa, Sangie, Recall, Mwaphavu band, and many more will perform at the festival.
