Linda Ward Foundation Enhances Kamteteka Health Centre with Computer Donation

MZIMBA, Malawi The Linda Ward Foundation has stepped up its support for Kamteteka Health Centre by donating two state-of-the-art laptop computers valued at K1.6 million, writes Soyapi Jalanthowa.

Dinary Kankhuni, the Country Director of the foundation, highlighted the challenges faced by health workers in preserving essential information related to patients and daily operations at the facility.
"We noticed that health workers at Kamteteka Health Centre were having challenges storing important data pertaining to their work. So, we decided to assist them with these computers to enhance their efficiency," said Kankhuni.
He emphasized the foundation's commitment to addressing various challenges at the facility, which serves a substantial population. The donation of computers is just one part of their broader initiative.
Louis Moyo, the Administrator of the Mzimba South District Health Office, commended the Linda Ward Foundation for its commendable efforts in enhancing the efficiency of Kamteteka Health Centre.
“What the foundation has done is commendable. They have already renovated the entire health centre, which was in a dilapidated state. The computers donated today will further improve their day-to-day work," said Moyo.
The Linda Ward Foundation has already invested K38 million in renovating the facility, which was in a state of disrepair, and in constructing houses for health workers and toilets.
Their future plans include the construction of a maternity wing at the facility and an elementary school for the community.
The foundation's dedication to improving the Kamteteka Health Centre demonstrates its commitment to enhancing healthcare access and quality in the region.
