Kumwembe hat-trick propels Wanderers to 3-0 victory over Civil

BLANTYRE, Malawi — Mighty Mukuru Wanderers defeated Civil Service United 3-0 in a TNM Super League match at Kamuzu Stadium on Sunday, writes Happy Valirani.
Christopher Kumwembe's hat-trick secured three points for Wanderers, moving them to second place in the league table with 18 points, seven behind leaders Silver Strikers.
Kumwembe, named man of the match, scored in the 45th, 49th, and 71st minutes.
Wanderers head coach Meke Mwase praised his team's performance.
"We worked very hard during our preparations. We didn't start the way we wanted, but it's part of the game," Mwase said.
Civil Service United, now eighth with 14 points, struggled defensively. Their coach, Abas Makawa, acknowledged the defeat.
"We made it difficult for ourselves. We started the game well but didn't convert our chances," Makawa said.
