Malawi: The KaraBooms, a charity organization based in Blantyre, on Saturday, January 7th, 2023, visited Mustard Seed Communities in Chikwawa to donate school supplies and other items to children under home-based care, writes Comfort Bulangete.
This marked the second visit to Mustard Seed Communities by The KaraBooms, as they had previously gifted the children with Christmas presents two years prior.
Nicole Ngulube, Co-managing director for The KaraBooms, said in an interview, "We wanted to assist the kids in different ways so they can work hard in school and become reliable citizens of Malawi. We've donated school bags, crayons, pens, drinking bottles, plastic plates, soap, detergents, and some food items to help them stay clean and nourished as they go to school."
Victor Kapyepye, Programmes Supervisor at Mustard Seed Communities, expressed his desire for more well-wishers to join in and assist, citing the example of KaraBooms.
He emphasized the importance of reaching out to more children in need of support and expressed gratitude towards individuals, families, organizations, and public and private institutions who choose to support the needy through various donations.
"Mustard Seed Communities relies on the support of donors and stakeholders to carry out its mission of caring for the most vulnerable members of our communities. It is our responsibility as human beings to care for the most vulnerable children, and we are always grateful when people come forward to offer their donations and bring joy to the children. Every donation, no matter its size, helps to fill a need and keeps us moving forward," said Kapyepye.
