MALAWI: Concerned Citizens Timely Voice (CCTV), a non-governmental organization (NGO), with financial support from well-wishers, donated relief food and non-food relief items to people from Traditional Authority Kalonga affected by floods in the district.
Organization Executive Director Bon Kalindo stated that people affected by the floods lack a lot of basic needs; thus, the donation.
“We have donated all those items only to alleviate the suffering of those people who lost their houses, livestock, food, and some of their loved ones,” said Kalindo.
He also encourages the recipients to use the assistance for its intended purpose.
Group Village Headman Kalonga expressed gratitude for the assistance that will make the victims' lives easier and better.
He also asked for more help from people of goodwill in the district to help Carter meet the needs of all the victims.
He also praised the organization for taking the initiative.
“On behalf of the Traditional Authority (T/A) l am so grateful for the good work done by CCTV in supporting the floods victims”, said Group Village Headman.
Nebron Yohane, a beneficiary, also expressed gratitude to the organization for the timely humanitarian assistance that will improve her life.
She also invited CCTV to come and support them right away from the camp.
Items donated to 300 flood-affected households included 10kg bags of maize flour, buckets, cups, plates, beans, and salt.
