The school boasts impressive infrastructure and is poised to provide quality education, but a lack of essential utilities threatens to delay its opening.
During a recent visit to assess the school's progress, the Deputy Minister of Education, Nancy Mdooko, expressed her commitment to resolving these issues promptly.
She pledged to collaborate with the Ministry of Energy, Water, and Sanitation to ensure that the school can commence operations without further delay.
In an interview, the Deputy Minister elaborated on the steps that her ministry plans to take to address the water and electricity challenges.
A representative of Young Sim Becky, the generous donor behind the school's establishment, shared her passion for promoting girls' education.
She emphasised the need for clean water and a stable electricity supply, recognising the significant hurdles these challenges pose.
The Education Division Manager for Mzimba North, Jennings Kaira, expressed gratitude to the donor for her dedication to improving girls' access to education, not only in Rumphi but throughout Malawi.
Kaira highlighted the positive impact that the school has already had on the region, providing employment opportunities and attracting potential projects to the district.
Member of Parliament for Rumphi West, Yona Adada Wiza Mkandawire, called on the Deputy Minister to expedite efforts in liaising with relevant authorities to resolve the water and electricity challenges.
He stressed the school's importance, not just as an educational institution but as a catalyst for local development and prosperity.
Mkandawire further emphasised how the school had already started benefiting the people of Rumphi and how it had the potential to attract additional projects that could transform the district.
