BLANTYRE, Malawi — The highly anticipated TNM Super League match between arch-rivals FCB Nyasa Big Bullets and Mighty Mukuru Wanderers took place on November 5, 2023, at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre and ended in a thrilling 1-1 draw, writes Happy Valirani.

It was Mighty Mukuru Wanderers who struck first, with their captain Stanley Sanudi scoring a remarkable long-range goal from outside the box on the 35th minute.
The ball sailed into the corner of the net, eluding the outstretched arms of Bullets' goalkeeper, Rabson Chiyenda.
Maxwell Gasten Phodo was the hero for Bullets, levelling the score at 1-1 on the 57th minute after receiving a pass from Hassan Kajoke. Bullets took advantage of the Wanderers' defence lapse to seize the opportunity.
The draw leaves both teams tied with 54 points each, only separated by their goal difference.
Bullets lead the league standings due to their superior goal difference. It's worth noting that Bullets have played five games less than any other team in the 2023 TNM Super League campaign.

Calisto Pasuwa, the coach of FCB Nyasa Big Bullets, expressed his understanding of Wanderers' determination to secure maximum points in the game.
With five games remaining in the 2023 TNM Super League season, Pasuwa acknowledged that his team created scoring chances in the first half but couldn't capitalize on them.
The Bullets' coach was satisfied with the performance and the single point earned in the match.
On the other hand, Mighty Mukuru Wanderers have two games left to conclude the season.
Simplex Nthala, one of the coaches at Mighty Mukuru Wanderers, emphasized their desire for three points instead of a draw to strengthen their position in the title race against Bullets.
Despite their disappointment with the result, Nthala praised his team's performance and called for maintaining their form in the remaining games.
