Innovative Leaders Key for Company Survival Amidst Turbulence

BLANTYRE, Malawi - Marketing and sales leaders need to be innovative to help companies survive economic turbulence, according to a leading sales training firm, writes Steven Godfrey Mkweteza.
"Companies can strive through current economic shocks if sales and marketing leaders are innovative," said Micheal Khomani, senior consultant and director at Sales Hub.
Khomani made the remarks Tuesday during an open sales leaders training in Blantyre.
He noted some companies have scaled back production or closed entirely due to the tough economic environment.
"The situation would not be like that if marketing and sales leaders were more innovative to cushion companies against economic shocks," he said.
Sales Hub aims to build the capacity of sales leaders to implement strategies to save companies from collapse, Khomani said.
"As we've just started the year, sales teams need to kick start on a good note for company survival," he said.
Participant Titania Katenga Kaunda hailed the training, saying it would motivate marketing and sales teams.
"Survival of companies rests in the hands of sales and marketing teams, therefore they need innovative leaders," Kaunda said.
Sales Hub was established in 2023 to build capacity in the sales and marketing sectors.
"Innovative leaders are key for company survival amidst turbulence," Khomani said.
