Home Church International Improves Lives of Women Through Loans, Animal Projects
Home Church Int'l Founder, Pastor Thomson, conducts seminars for pastors in Malawi, Zambia, and Mozambique, writes Happy Valirani.
BLANTYRE, Malawi- Pastor Brian Thomson, the founder of Home Church International, has arrived in Malawi to conduct seminars for pastors from Zambia, Malawi, and Mozambique, where the church has branches, writes Happy Valirani.
In addition to preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ, Home Church International has implemented initiatives to improve the lives of women through loans and animal projects in Malawi, particularly in the districts of Chikwawa, Blantyre, Chitsime, and Thyolo.
"We just got registered here in Malawi a few years ago as Home Church International, and my coming here is to expand our church and projects here in Malawi and lay the foundation for the Home of Hope organization. We have ten projects here in Malawi for the poorest women. And the projects have now started producing fruits, and 140 women have so far benefited from the projects, namely; microloans and animal projects where we give women goats to pass it on to one another, and we have been doing these initiatives for over sixteen years," said Pastor Thomson.
Pastor Thomson further stated that the church chose to focus on women because, when they make money, they often use it to feed their children.
The church is committed to helping orphans and the poorest women in all corners of Malawi through its organization, Home of Hope.
On Friday, the church will be conducting business training sessions for the women beneficiaries of the loans.
Pastor Thomson has brought along a friend who started a business at the age of sixteen, and he will be teaching the women how to start making their own money with little capital.
Pastor Thomson's visit to Malawi follows a similar trip to Kenya, where he conducted similar activities.
Home Church International, which was founded over fifty years ago in Canada, has over 112 branches in countries such as Kenya, Rwanda, Congo, Burundi, Mozambique, and Malawi, Africa.
The church aims to not only spread the gospel but also make a positive impact on the lives of women and children in need through its various initiatives.
