Health Centre Receives 'Catalyst for Progress' Donation
Action for Progress' donation to Mbingwa Health Center demonstrates their commitment to improving healthcare access and contributing to community well-being in Malawi.
DOWA, Malawi - Action for Progress, a non-profit organization, has donated an array of essential medical supplies and equipment worth over K60 million to Mbingwa Health Centre in Dowa district, writes Mphatso M'bang'ombe.
The donation aims to improve access to health services at the facility.
"This generous donation serves as a catalyst for progress, ensuring that the local community receives the healthcare it deserves," said Reuben Banda, Mbingwa Health Centre Incharge.
The donation includes 2 examination couches, 7 medical mattresses, 4 drip stands, 2 maternity beds, 2 wheelchairs, 10 walking frames, 5 chlorine (20 litres), 5 boxes disposable gowns and 2 boxes baby packs.
Banda expressed gratitude for the donation and said the equipment will help improve delivery of health services at the facility.
Wilson Tembo, Executive Director of Action for Progress, said the organization donated the supplies following a request from the facility and an assessment of its needs.
"As an organization, health is one of our thematic areas and we hope to continue supplying and donating these equipments to health facilities across the country," said Tembo.
Tembo said the organization is dedicated to working with Malawians to improve their physical and mental well-being.
He said their programs focus on agriculture, education, medicine, mobility, famine relief, resource conservation and human development.
