MALAWI: The Presidential Advisor on Youth and Arts, Lucius Banda, has stated that the government will assist musician Martin Nkhata, also known as Martse, who is currently hospitalised in Blantyre.

“I have learned with shock about the sad incident that has happened to one of our Artists, Martse. l pray to God that he gets well soonest,” said Lucius on his Facebook page.

“On behalf of the Government, I should assure the family that we are set and ready to come in if anything beyond what is already being done in our hospital, may be recommended for him. We stand with Martse in this difficult time.”

After being transferred from Mangochi to Blantyre, the "Go Deeper" star is now receiving treatment at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital.

Martse has sustained fire burns in a fire accident.

According to reports, the house the artist slept in allegedly caught fire in Monkey Bay.

Images of Martse on his sickbed were widely shared on various social media platforms on Saturday.

Musicians and fans in support of Martse have been praying for his quick recovery on social media.

"My brother Martse, I wish you a quick recovery. Love you always," wrote Gwamba.

While a videographer, Issac Chigwale, posted on his Facebook wall, a photo, "Wishing you a Quick Recovery Martin Martse Nkhata."

Malawi government is full of foolish leaders how can a well known musician like Martse die like that at queens without taking a step of trying other strong hospital fuck you guys there
