Johannesburg, South Africa - The International Women's Federation of Commerce and Industry (IWFCI) is hosting its annual Global Women's Trade Summit this month-end, bringing together leaders in international trade to discuss ways to empower women in business and promote gender equality, writes Winston Mwale.
The summit, taking place August 28-29 at the Southern Sun in Rosebank, Johannesburg, will feature keynote addresses by Ms. Pinky Kekana, Deputy Minister of the Office of the Presidency in South Africa; Dr. Geraldine Joslyn Fraser-Moleketi; HE Tegan Brink, High Commissioner of Australia to South Africa; and HE Charlotte M. Lobe, High Commissioner of South Africa to Singapore.
The event, organized by the South African chapter of IWFCI, aims to create a platform for dynamic discussions, networking opportunities, and collaborations to advance the role of women in the global economy.
"This year's summit will focus on promoting women's participation in trade and entrepreneurship," said Thato Mahlangu, publicist for IWFCI.
"We will feature keynote speeches, panel discussions, and workshops led by prominent experts and thought leaders."
Attendees and members of the media can expect to gain valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities faced by women in the international trade landscape.
One of the key objectives of the summit is to foster relationships and partnerships that support women-owned businesses and drive economic growth.
Through interactive sessions and networking events, participants will have the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals, exchange ideas, and explore potential collaborations.
The summit will also provide a platform for women entrepreneurs to showcase their products and services, fostering connections with potential buyers and investors.
"We want to highlight success stories and share best practices, inspiring and empowering women to take on leadership roles in the world of trade," said Mahlangu.
