Malawi: Fr. Augustin Kaliu, a Lilongwe Archdiocese priest and gospel artist, will release his fifth album, Pathodzo, on December 4th at the Glalle Complex in Lilongwe.
In an interview with AfricaBrief on Friday, Fr Kaliu stated that he is ready to bounce back with the new album.
Pathodzo is the title track of the album and is based on true life stories.
He said: “After releasing so many songs on my previous DVD, I believe it is time to break the silence. Most people know me for my famous songs Chisokhano, Pokhapokha featuring Skefa Chimoto, and Yosefe Bambo Athu, featuring Fr Jean Marie.”
He went on to say that the Pathodzo album features 9 tracks, including Ndine Mulungu.
“I also included Fr Kelvin Ugwe from Nigeria in a song called Tiyo mwambane,” he said.
“I'm inviting people from Lilongwe and the surrounding areas to come out in large numbers to show their support for the Pathozo album. Several supporting artists will perform at the launch, including Skefa Chimoto, Lulu, Coss Chiwalo, Robert Chiwamba, Fr Damiano Chitha, Tiyo, and Edgar Kapiza.”
