Fount For Nations Donates Wheelchairs to Empower Dowa District Children
Currently, the organization operates in three districts: Dowa, Lilongwe, and Mzimba.
Dowa, Malawi - In a heartwarming gesture, the Fount For Nations organization has stepped up to address the mobility challenges faced by children with disabilities in Dowa district by donating eight wheelchairs, writes Philord Magalasi.
The charitable act aims to facilitate their access to education, making it more inclusive.
Communication Officer of Fount For Nations, Conex Kafera, emphasized the organization's commitment to complementing the government's efforts to promote inclusive education.
Kafera stated, "Every child has a right to access education regardless of his or her physical abilities."
Dowa District Special Needs Education Officer, Frank Malamulo, expressed gratitude for the timely donation, highlighting its potential to significantly boost inclusive education in the country.
He urged other organizations to follow suit, recognizing that government support alone cannot fully achieve inclusive education.
In an emotional testimony, Jenifer Kayera, whose daughter was one of the beneficiaries, expressed her gratitude, saying, "The wheelchair will help my daughter overcome the mobility challenges she faced when trying to attend school."
However, she also called on other organizations to provide essential school materials, recognizing that some children still lack basic necessities for their education.
Fount For Nations has been actively working in Malawi since 2015, focusing its efforts on improving the lives of vulnerable communities.
Currently, the organization operates in three districts: Dowa, Lilongwe, and Mzimba.
This charitable act not only represents a significant step towards achieving inclusive education but also demonstrates the power of collaboration between organizations and the community to make a positive impact in the lives of children with disabilities.
