MULANJE, Malawi- A footballing spectacle is on the cards this Sunday in Mulanje as newly promoted side Friends of Mulanje Orphans (FOMO) hosts a star-studded team of Malawian legends for a charity exhibition match, writes Alinafe Nyanda.
The clash at Mulanje Park has been organized by JK Productions, a body stewarded by football icon Jim Kalua that serves to promote and celebrate the nation's rich footballing heritage.
Several former greats from the domestic and international scene are expected to grace the event.
"Several football legends are set to arrive in Mulanje this Sunday for this much-anticipated charity game which will give local fans a rare chance to witness some of the country's biggest football stars from past decades," Kalua confirmed on Wednesday.
Among the household names set to feature are ex-Nyasa Big Bullets and Civo United sharpshooter Andrew Chikhosi, former Bullets winger Fisher Kondowe, one-time Silver Strikers midfield marshal Ulanda Kalua, and Mabvuto Lungu, another Bullets great from years gone by.
