Feed the Children has stepped up its efforts to improve the nutrition status of people, particularly children, in Salima district, through the Child Focused Community Development Program (CFCDP).
Feed the Children has stepped up its efforts to improve the nutrition status of people, particularly children, in Salima district, through the Child Focused Community Development Program (CFCDP).
CFCDP District Project Coordinator, Chisomo Ngomba, said they are pulling out all the stops to promote awareness about the program in the district with the aim of improving the nutrition status of children in the district.
“We are doing so many activities to promote the awareness of how CFCDP is of great importance to Salima as a district in order to promote the nutritional status of children, ” said Ngomba.
“We are doing these activities in partnership with council officials, cluster leaders, chiefs, and village leaders to promote nutrition awareness in the district.”
Principal Nutrition and HIV and AIDS Officer for the district Joana Chitaya said there is a need to keep the collaborative efforts in promoting the nutrition status of people in the district.
“The message that l would like to convey to all the residents in the district is that they should treat the issue of nutrition with the seriusoness it deserves,” said Chitaya.
Meanwhile, Traditional Authority (T/A) Mwanza applauded both the council officials and members of the non-governmental community for the what he called commendable job they are doing in promoting the nutrition status of the Salima residents.
