The media freedom celebrations, scheduled for Saturday under the theme "Guardians of Democracy: Championing Media Independence for Credible Elections," will highlight the vital role journalism plays in democracy.
"As a homegrown institution, we consider the media our partner in our purpose to help our communities grow," said Lorraine Chikhula, FDH Bank's public relations manager.
"We recognize the importance of putting our people first and value the relationship with the media."
Chikhula noted the integral role played by the media in enhancing customer service, financial inclusion and fostering a competitive environment for companies like FDH Bank.
"Supporting the media remains important to us," she added.
MISA Malawi Chairperson Golden Matonga thanked FDH for its support, saying the donation will go a long way in supporting the Press Freedom Day event.
"By supporting the media, the bank is affirming its commitment to supporting vital institutions of our democracy," Matonga said.
