FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Crush Bangwe All Stars in FDH Bank Cup

BLANTYRE, Malawi— FCB Nyasa Big Bullets ended their recent slump with a resounding 5-0 victory over Bangwe All Stars in the FDH Bank Cup round of 32 at Kamuzu Stadium on Sunday, writes Happy Valirani.
The win secures Bullets a spot in the round of 16 of the competition, where they will face the winner of the match between Cobbe Barracks and Mighty Mukuru Wanderers.
After a goalless first half, Patrick Mwaungulu broke the deadlock for Bullets in the 52nd minute.
Chikumbutso Salima added two goals in the 69th and 84th minutes, while substitute Babatunde Adepoju scored in the 87th minute. Mwaungulu sealed the victory with his second goal in the 90th minute.
Bullets Head Coach Calisto Pasuwa praised his team's second-half performance.
"The boys were getting in the right position at the right time, and we got the goals coming. The win will motivate everyone in the team," Pasuwa said.
Bangwe All Stars Head Coach Rodgers Yasin attributed the loss to a lack of concentration in the second half.
"We had a good game in the first half, but we lost concentration in the second half," Yasin explained.
The match, played on July 7, 2024, marks a significant turnaround for Bullets after a difficult stretch in the TNM Super League.
