Entrepreneur Secures K10M for Fish Feed Tech

LILONGWE, Malawi - In a major success for Teron Agro Limited, Taziona Chigwe emerged victorious in Standard Bank's Phuka Incubation Program, securing K10 million for their innovative floating fish feed project, writes Bridgette Mwanoka.
"Agriculture is a vital pillar of our economy, and initiatives like Phuka play a key role in supporting agribusiness ideas," said Standard Bank CEO Phillip Madinga.
Chigwe was selected from four small and medium enterprises after a rigorous six-week incubation.
"I will invest the K10 million in floating fish feed production, crucial to our success," he said.
The collaboration between Standard Bank, the Centre for Agricultural Transformation (CAT), and Synergy Labs has driven the program's achievements.
"We empowered entrepreneurs with skills, exposure and connections to grow innovative agribusinesses," Madinga explained.
"Partnerships are key for sustainable interventions," said CAT Executive Director Macloud Nkhoma, emphasizing the importance of an agricultural mindset shift.
This aligns with the broader goal of building a supportive agribusiness ecosystem.
