Education Network Vows to Improve Learning Quality in Dowa

DOWA, Malawi- The Dowa District Education Network (DADEN), operating under the Civil Society Organizations Network, has pledged to enhance the quality of education in the district's schools for effective teaching and learning, writes Vincent Gunde.
During a meeting that brought together representatives from civil society organizations implementing education projects in the district, DADEN Chairperson Gift Mwale expressed confidence in the collaborative efforts.
"The success of one institution can contribute to the successes of other institutions in the district by sitting down together to share the common projects which are being implemented in the district," Mwale said.
He stated that the meeting aimed to facilitate the sharing of experiences, ongoing initiatives, and challenges faced in the education sector, enabling joint efforts to address these issues.
Mwale vowed to share the insights gathered with the district council, fostering a partnership to improve the quality of education in Dowa.
"We will share with the council what we are facing on the ground in order to improve the education sector in Dowa district," he said, appealing to existing and new partners to join the networking efforts.
DAPP-Dowa College Principal Blessings Kambewa highlighted challenges such as learner absenteeism and lack of community participation as hindrances to educational progress in the district.
Kambewa pledged the college's continued support in training teachers to meet societal needs and contribute to effective learning in schools.
"We will continue helping the networking process so that education should be of good standards in the district," Kambewa said.
