Creck Sporting Club Protests Fixture Scheduling, Seeks Fair Treatment

LILONGWE, Malawi — Creck Sporting Club, a rookie team in Malawi's TNM Super League, has voiced concerns over the league's fixture scheduling, writes Joseph Chalera.
Club Chairman Muhammad Seleman criticized the allocation of four consecutive away games within 40 days.
"We have so far played two consecutive away games," Seleman said.
"It's not normal for us to be given another two away assignments. We need to be considered."
Seleman highlighted challenges the newly promoted team faced, including last-minute cancellations affecting hotel bookings.
Super League of Malawi (SULOM) General Secretary Williams Banda urged teams to direct concerns to SULOM rather than the media.
He attributed recent changes to international breaks and national team commitments.
"We always treat all 16 teams equally," Banda said. "However, there are factors we consider when creating fixtures, such as cup games and national team engagements."
Sports analyst Twaha Chimuka questioned the frequent fixture changes, warning of potential impacts on team resources and performance.
"We need to change how we run our game, otherwise, we won't grow as a nation," Chimuka said.
Creck Sporting Club, currently fourth in league with 30 points after 19 games, faces upcoming away matches against Moyale Barracks on Sept. 21 and FCB Nyasa Big Bullets on Sept. 25.
