Chitipa United Beat Moyale Barracks 1-0 to Move Second in Malawi Super League

KARONGA, Malawi-Chitipa United defeated Moyale Barracks 1-0 in a Malawi Super League match on Saturday at Karonga Stadium, writes Victor Musongole.
The only goal of the game was scored by Ghedo Lorenzo in the 30th minute.
With the win, Chitipa United moved into second place in the league table, level on points with Nyasa Big Bullets but with a worse goal difference.
Moyale Barracks remains in eighth place.
Chitipa United coach McDonald Mtetemera was pleased with the win, saying it was a morale boost for his side.
"I'm very happy that we have won our last game of this round, all thanks to my boys, who are very obedient," he said.
"This means we will finish in the top three."
Mtetemera added that he will use the first-round transfer window to beef up his squad.
"I have good players, but during the transfer window I will have to recruit two or three players to make sure we have competition in all departments," Mtetemera said.
Moyale Barracks coach Nicolas Mhango was disappointed with the loss, saying his strikers lacked composure.
"We have lost, but we had a number of chances in this game, but we lacked composure up front," said Mhango.
"Our opponent used their only chance."
Chitipa United will next play Silver Strikers on Wednesday, while Moyale Barracks will face Mighty Wanderers on Saturday.
