Malawi-Salima-based Chisomo Radio Station (CRS) has opened its Lilongwe studio/office as part of its mission to reach a wider audience with vibrant programming and better serve its customers, writes Alinafe Nyanda.
The radio station, which has transmitters in Salima, Dwangwa, Kasungu, Ntcheu, and Lilongwe with frequencies in 21 districts, has become a platform for farmers, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and other stakeholders to discuss relevant issues and share information about their communities.
In an interview, Jeverson Saguga, Managing Director for Chisomo Radio Station, expressed his excitement about the progress of their project and their mission to reach unreached areas.
He stated, "Our goal as a media house is to create a conducive environment where stakeholders in the country can easily interact with each other and provide a platform for business actors to sell their commodities, hence the opening of our Lilongwe bureau."
Saguga further emphasized that the radio station aims to bridge the gap between policymakers and the community and improve access to information.
He added, "With the opening of our studio/office in Lilongwe, we are optimistic that we are on track to complement the government's plans in achieving Malawi2063 through our sound and meaningful developmental radio programs and relevant information to listeners."
Chisomo Radio Station is a non-partisan media house that has been in existence for 7 years, with a goal to reach unreached areas with relevant information for the masses.
The Lilongwe Bureau offices and studio are located in Area 22 along M1 Road, behind Luanar Area 36 Campus, providing a central location for their operations.
