In the competition, six heat sessions were conducted, and points were collected to determine the winner.
Chipoka Secondary School came out on top with 33 points, and Holy Cross Christian Private School was the runner-up with 30 points.
The two schools were crowd favourites because of their quickness to respond to the questions asked.
In an interview after the event, Anock Kanyika, the quiz mentor for Chipoka Secondary School, praised his team for their hard work and fighting spirit.
He said, "I am very proud of my boys and how hard they have worked to get here. I always encourage them to stand tall and fight till the end, this has been insightful and exhilarating, all thanks to the organizers for a beautiful competition."
Mwakhuwira Mhone, the director of Holy Cross Christian Private School, stated that the initiative gave them an avenue to showcase their talents and thanked the organizers for the opportunity.
He said, "The competition was to improve academic performance in both institutions and rekindle the spirit of academic excellence and healthy competition among schools and the youth population by motivating, encouraging, and rewarding the hardworking spirit."
Quiz master, Mica Chisale, described the event as an enabling environment to operate in and encouraged students to apply the knowledge they had acquired to keep achieving more.
"It is with no doubt that students were well prepared and had done their thorough research. Some of the questions were difficult even for the adults present, and everyone who attended took away one or two learnings," he said.
According to the organizers, the quiz addressed Sustainable Development Goal 4 by ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education for both public and private schools in the country, thus helping to promote lifelong learning opportunities for the teeming youth population.
