Malawi: AfricaBrief has learned that Ngabu Rural Hospital has gone two months without feeding its patients.
While confirming the development, inside sources at the facility have since described the situation as concerning.
Guardians we randomly spoke to when this reporter visited the hospital on the condition of anonymity said they are finding it difficult to source food because they come from remote areas.
They have since pleaded with the Chikwawa District Health Office to address the issue as soon as possible.
When contacted, Dr Stallin Zimkanda, the district's Director of Health and Social Services, stated that he was unaware of the situation.
He has since asked for more time to comment on the situation.
"What we usually know is that we buy food and other hospital supplies every month. The government provides us with funds based on our budget. However, there have been reports of insufficient food "he stated in an interview on Wednesday
