Jackson Chibwana, a 64-year-old from Senior Chief Sitola, expressed gratitude for the donation, emphasising the urgent need to combat hunger.
"People with disabilities and the elderly are at risk of dying from hunger because we did not produce enough food," Chibwana said.
During the donation event, JAE director Bernardatter Vaz highlighted the organization's commitment to supporting people with disabilities and the elderly in Machinga.
Vaz acknowledged that households led by individuals with disabilities and the elderly continue to face challenges, particularly with food security, as their crops were destroyed by floods caused by Cyclone Freddy.
