CBO bails out widow
“Prior to the construction of this house, I was living in a small grass-thatched house which nearly fell on us during rainy season this year."
As one way of reaching out to the less privileged people in societies, Chisomo Community Faith-Based Organisation (FBO) last week bailed out a widow by donating a house to a her in Mzuzu.
The CBO’s director, Pastor Isaac Chagwa said his organisation decided to build a house for Stevellia Mhango, who has been residing in Chibanja for many years, as one way of bailing her out from living in a dilapidated house.
He said: "Our mandate as a ministry is to reach out to the less-privileged in Mzuzu City as inspired by faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, who in his teachings, emphasises in giving to the needy."
Mhango expressed gratitude towards the gesture shown by Chisomo Community Faith-Based Organisation. She said that she now has a reliable shelter for her family.
“Prior to the construction of this house, I was living in a small grass-thatched house which nearly fell on us during rainy season this year. Pastor Chagwa and the ministry came to my rescue by supporting me with food items and now they have built a beautiful house for me and the family,” she said.
Among others things, the charitable organization, which is operating in Mzuzu City, is also running a feeding project where over 60 street children are given meals on Saturdays every week.
