Businessman Ngosi Seeks Chikwawa North Parliamentary Seat
Ngosi, whose "Hifa Business Center" has employed over 100 youths, believes his business management experience will be an asset if elected as a member of Parliament.
CHIKWAWA, Malawi— A well-known businessman in Chikwawa district, Anganile Ngosi, has announced his intention to contest the parliamentary seat for Chikwawa North Constituency in the 2025 general elections, running on the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) ticket, writes Moses Thole.
Ngosi, whose "Hifa Business Center" has employed over 100 youths, believes his business management experience will be an asset if elected as a member of Parliament.
"I plan to use my business acumen to attract investors to the district and create more job opportunities for the youth," Ngosi said in a recent interview.
He highlighted key issues he aims to address, including improving access to quality education, healthcare and infrastructure.
Ngosi also emphasized empowering women and youth to actively participate in decision-making processes.
Ngosi's decision has drawn mixed reactions. While some applaud his development commitment and business success, others question his motives and ability to effectively represent constituents' interests.
"I remain determined to make a positive impact in my community," Ngosi said. "My candidacy will bring much-needed change in Chikwawa North."
The DPP candidate believes his entrepreneurial background, employing over 100 locals, demonstrates his commitment to youth empowerment and job creation — priorities he hopes to advance if elected to parliament.
