Bullets Triumphant in 3-0 Super League Victory Over Tigers
BLANTYRE, Malawi - FCB Nyasa Big Bullets secured a decisive 3-0 victory over Mighty Tigers in a Midweek TNM Super League match on Wednesday at Kamuzu Stadium, writes Happy Valirani.
Chikumbutso Salima, named player of the match, scored a brace for the defending champions, with substitute Ronald Chitiyo adding a third goal.
The win has taken Bullets to third place in the league table with 44 points, 10 behind leaders Silver Strikers, who have played one game less.
"A game where we wanted to bury it in 10 minutes but missed many chances. But again we did well; most of the time we were in their half and keeping positions and creating chances; fortunately, we got the goals we wanted and the three points," said Bullets coach Kalisto Pasuwa.
Mighty Tigers remain in 12th place with 28 points from 26 games, just two steps above the relegation zone. Their coach, Leonard Mpulula, was critical of his team's performance, describing it as "one of the worst so far this season."
"We could not concede more than three goals with the team that Bullets featured today, but we are returning a losing team. We just have to go back and encourage players and do the needful where we have seen the shortfalls so that we should move forward a positive side," Mpulula said.
In other Super League action on Wednesday, Creck Sporting Club drew 0-0 with Kamuzu Barracks, while relegated Baka City beat FOMO FC 2-1.
