Bullets Secure Convincing Win Over Dedza Dynamos to Reach FDH Bank Cup Final

LILONGWE, Malawi - FCB Nyasa Big Bullets displayed a dominant performance as they defeated Dedza Dynamos in a thrilling encounter to advance to the final of the FDH Bank Cup "Pachema", writes Happy Valirani.
The highly anticipated match took place at Kamuzu Stadium on Sunday, September 24, 2023.
Collins Okumu opened the scoring for Bullets with an early goal just two minutes into the game. Hassan Kajoke extended their lead to 2-0 in the 65th minute, putting the home team in a comfortable position.
Anthony Mfune then showcased his skills by netting two goals in quick succession in the 69th and 73rd minutes, bringing the scoreline to an impressive 4-0 in favour of Bullets.
Mcfarlen Mgwira sealed the victory for Bullets with a goal in the 89th minute, making it 5-1 after Dedza Dynamos managed to pull one back through substitute Gift Magola in the 87th minute.
Bullets, the defending champions of the FDH Bank Cup after their triumph in 2022, are now eager to secure back-to-back titles as they prepare to face Mafco FC in the final.
The date of the final will be communicated by the Football Association of Malawi (FAM).
Chawanangwa Gumbo, who delivered an outstanding performance for Bullets, was named the man of the match.
Expressing his delight with the win, Bullets head coach Calisto Pasuwa acknowledged the team's struggle in the first half but praised their improved performance in the second half.
"It was a very good game for our boys. We had some difficulties in the first half, but in the second half, we played as a team, which resulted in the goals. We are now up against another strong team, Mafco, in the final. We need to thoroughly prepare to defend the Cup," said Pasuwa.
On the other side, Dedza Dynamos coach Gilbert Chirwa accepted the defeat and attributed it to a loss of concentration following the early goal they conceded.
"We lost concentration after conceding quick goals early on. I never expected such a wide goal margin. We have to go back to the drawing board to determine the way forward," Chirwa admitted.
The FDH Bank Cup, launched in 2021, is currently in its fourth season. Leonard Chimchere, the marketing manager of FDH Bank, expressed satisfaction with the exciting second semi-final between Bullets and Dedza.
