Bullets, Civil Service United Deadlock in 1-1 Super League Draw
Bullets equalized two minutes later when Ernest Petro
BLANTYRE, Malawi— FCB Nyasa Big Bullets and Civil Service United played to a 1-1 draw Sunday in a TNM Super League match at Kamuzu Stadium, writes Happy Valirani.
Blessings Malinda put Civil Service ahead in the 53rd minute, dribbling past Bullets defenders before firing a long-range shot past goalkeeper Innocent Nyasulu.
Bullets equalized two minutes later when Ernest Petro tapped in to level the score.
Bullets head coach Calisto Pasuwa expressed frustration with the result.
"It's a concern now because the best result we can play for is a draw," Pasuwa said.
"We need to dig deeper in order for us to come back to winning ways."
Pasuwa noted the team's recent 5-0 cup victory but emphasized the need to translate that success to league play.
"We need to motivate players so that we can start getting the results, but we cannot put much pressure on them because most of the players are youngsters," he said.
Civil Service United assistant coach Wilson Chidati praised his team's effort.
"It was a tough game although we created many chances but failed to convert them," Chidati said.
"I'm happy for a point, and collecting a point here is a better result. This will motivate the players to do well in our next games."
