The first half of the game started slowly, with neither team able to establish a rhythm or build passes from the back.
The second half saw both the Blue Eagles and the Bullets create scoring opportunities, but neither team was able to convert these into goals.
The match ended in a draw, with each team taking home one point.
Micium Mhone of the Blue Eagles was voted man of the match.
Despite the draw, the FCB Nyasa Big Bullets continue to lead the league table with 56 points from 27 games, with three games remaining in the 2023 TNM Super League season.
Calisto Pasuwa, coach of the FCB Nyasa Big Bullets, acknowledged his team’s strategy of playing long and high balls was well countered by their opponents.
“We were playing long and high balls which were well covered by our opponents,” Pasuwa said. “The three games we have remained with are crucial ones, but we will play until the last game of the season and see where we will finish.”
The Blue Eagles have moved to eighth position on the standings with 35 points from 29 games. The team will face Mafco FC in their last game of the season.
Christopher Sibale, assistant coach of the Blue Eagles, praised his team for their performance against the FCB Nyasa Big Bullets, despite not scoring a goal.
“It was a good game,” Sibale said. “Whenever we are playing with Bullets, everyone expects a good football. I have to thank the boys for playing a good game despite not scoring. As Blue Eagles, we are looking forward to finish in the top eight. With one game remaining, we will try to win it so that we increase our chances. The good thing is that we will play at home.”
