Blantyre Coach Takes Reins at Bangwe
Bangwe All Stars finished sixth in the 2023 TNM Super League season and reached the semifinals of the Castel Challenge Cup.
BLANTYRE, Malawi - Blantyre based TNM Super League side Bangwe All Stars officially unveiled its new head coach ahead of the 2024 TNM Super League season, writes Happy Valirani.
The unveiling ceremony took place in Blantyre at the club's offices on Tuesday.
Christopher Nyambose, the former Mighty Wanderers head coach, has penned a seven-month contract with the Bangwe based team.
Nyambose replaced Abel Mkandawire, who signed a five-month contract during the 2023 Super League season.
"We want to compete and win the Super League," said Mphatso Jika, the club owner and chairman.
"We have told Nyambose our vision as a team."
In his remarks, Jika said the Bangwe All Stars management is happy to have Nyambose as coach.
"We had enough time to restructure our technical panel after the expiration of the contracts for Abel Mkandawire and Joseph Kamwendo at the end of the 2023 season," Jika said.
Nyambose said he is confident the seven-month contract provides enough time for him as coach to deliver his best.
"Bangwe All Stars has good youngster players," Nyambose said.
"We will work together as a team starting from the Executive, Board, technical panel and players to fulfill the targets that I have been given," Nyambose added.
Nyambose will work with Joseph Semu as his assistant coach.
