Bangwe Seventh-day Adventist Church to Host Inspirational Camp Meeting
The event will be hosted on the premises of the Bangwe Township SDA Church in Blantyre.
BLANTYRE, Malawi - The Bangwe Seventh-Day Adventist (SDA) Church is gearing up for its much-anticipated camp meeting scheduled to run from October 1st to the 7th this year, writes Comfort Bulangete.
With the theme "Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven," drawn from the book of Matthew 5:10, the event aims to bring individuals closer to Christ and is expected to draw in numerous souls seeking spiritual enrichment.
The Chairperson of the Camp Meeting Organising Committee, Friday Sauda, enthusiastically shared that all systems are in place for what he believes will be an extraordinary camp meeting.
The event will be hosted on the premises of the Bangwe Township SDA Church in Blantyre.
Sauda emphasised that preparations for this historic camp meeting are in their final stages, indicating the church's commitment to providing attendees with a spiritually enriching experience.
The camp meeting is designed as an extended spiritual gathering for Adventists and non-Adventists of all age groups.
Participants will engage in various spiritual seminars and activities, and it's customary for attendees to camp in tents during the event.
In reflecting on the purpose of these camp meetings, Sauda quoted the teachings of SDA co-founder Ellen Gould White, who encouraged attendees to approach the meetings with a readiness to work and a willingness to leave behind worldly cares.
The primary goal is to seek Jesus and experience His presence during the gathering.
Traditionally, camp meetings have provided a sacred space for individuals, especially those living in remote or unsettled areas, to come together as a community for a brief yet spiritually nourishing period.
In an unexpected development, it has come to light that the Bangwe Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Blantyre has been disowned jointly by the South Malawi Conference and the Malawi Union Conference of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
The reasons for this disassociation are currently undisclosed, leaving many within the church community surprised and seeking clarification.
Despite this development, the Bangwe SDA Church remains focused on its upcoming camp meeting, with the hope of touching the lives of many and fostering spiritual growth among its attendees during this inspirational event.
