Amref Health Africa Urges Stakeholders to Attend Upcoming AHAIC 2023 Conference
The Africa Health Agenda International Conference (AHAIC) is a flagship convening of Amref Health Africa and is the largest health and development conference held in Africa every two years.
Malawi: Amref Health Africa in Malawi has called on all players in the health sector in the country to attend the Africa Health Agenda International Conference (AHAIC) 2023, scheduled for March 5-8 in Kigali, Rwanda.
The conference provides a platform for participants to discuss and share best practices for dealing with health challenges.
Hester Mkwinda Nyasulu, the Country Director for Amref Malawi, says, “The AHAIC 2023 is a good platform to discuss the Africa health agenda, and as a country we cannot afford not to take part in that conversation. As we are working towards bringing lasting health change in our communities, this is a perfect space for us to share what is working and also learn from others how they are dealing with various health challenges in their countries.”
“This year’s event is particularly important because the discussion at the conference aim at bringing global attention to the undeniable link between climate change and health as we are getting closer to the 2030 Global Goals deadline. Thus we are calling on all the players in the health sector to attend this very important event because it will give them the opportunity to network with other global and regional players and to enhance visibility of the work they are doing in Malawi.”
The 2023 conference will bring together stakeholders from across sectors, including political figures, researchers, health workers, and community mobilizers, to discuss the most pressing issues for Africa, including pandemic preparedness, sexual and reproductive human rights for women, and the use of artificial intelligence in healthcare.
The event will feature provocative conversations, workshops, and networking opportunities and will be held under the theme "Resilient Health Systems for Africa-Re-envisioning the future now!"
The AHAIC is a biennial conference that brings together diverse stakeholders from around the world to discuss challenges and opportunities for improving health in Africa.
The AHAIC 2023 conference will begin with a Wogging Marathon on March 5th, in conjunction with the monthly Kigali Car Free Day.
The car-free day, which occurs every first and third Sunday of the month, is part of the city's efforts to promote sustainability and address non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
From March 6th to 8th, the conference will continue with three days of plenaries, high-level meetings, workshops, and networking sessions.
