AllAfrica, Ubuntu Tribe to Launch Ubuntuverse Metaverse at Media Summit

NAIROBI, Kenya— The 2024 AllAfrica Media Leaders' Summit next week in Nairobi will showcase the "Ubuntuverse," a new metaverse platform developed in partnership with technology firm Ubuntu Tribe, writes Winston Mwale.
The Ubuntuverse aims to bridge cultures and accelerate education and technology engagement across Africa through virtual reality.
The state-of-the-art metaverse environment represents a push into emerging technologies like AI and blockchain by AllAfrica, a leading digital media company covering African news.
"The Ubuntuverse is designed to foster a community that thrives on mutual respect and collective progress, using technology to empower and unite," said Ubuntu Tribe CEO Mamadou Kwidjim Toure.
AllAfrica's Dr. Tendai Mhizha said the partnership comes at a crucial time amid misinformation challenges, providing "transformative tools for factual reporting and cultural exchange."
