Akometsi Artists Light Up North with Festive Music Blitz

KARONGA, Malawi - Malawi's Akometsi Entertainment is igniting the festive season with a series of live music shows across the Northern Region, dubbed the "Northern Region Invasion", writes Howard Mlozi.
The party starts on Friday, December 22nd, at Club Destination 24 in Karonga with the "Karonga Moko Fest," headlined by award-winning rapper Gwamba alongside Pop Young, Qaso, Diego Watumanye, Emmie Deebo, Chris Lee, and DJ.Subwoofer.
"This is our way of invading the North with good vibes and live music," declares Pop Young, a member of the Akometsi collective.
"We want to encourage a stronger culture of live performances here, and trust me, fireworks are guaranteed!"
The electrifying lineup explodes into Mzuzu's Queens Park on Saturday, December 23rd, for the "Mzuzu Shutdown" before serenading Christmas Eve revelers at Ekwendeni View Motel with Pop Young, Diego Watumanye, Emmie Deebo, and Qaso.
Christmas Day promises festive grooves at Rumphi's Kajiso Bar with the "Akometsi Groove Fest," featuring DJs Subwoofer and Chris Lee alongside the usual suspects.
