Airtel Money Malawi Supports Microfinance Conference Towards Financial Inclusion
The conference theme is 'Financial inclusion: a key driver towards attaining the Malawi Vision 2063.'
Mangochi, Malawi — Airtel Money Malawi has provided support of 1.5 million Kwacha towards the annual lake conference for microfinance, scheduled for October 27–28, 2023, in Mangochi, writes Moses Nyirenda.
The conference theme is 'Financial inclusion: a key driver towards attaining the Malawi Vision 2063.'
This conference serves as a platform for microfinance institutions to connect, exchange ideas, share experiences, and explore innovative solutions to enhance financial inclusion.
In a recent statement, Airtel Money Malawi’s Business Development Manager, Rabia Akimu, expressed Airtel Money's commitment to partnering and collaborating with like-minded organizations to collectively progress toward a more financially inclusive society.
"Airtel Money recognizes the importance of reducing the financial inclusion gap and is committed to fostering collaborations that can make a difference," said Akimu.
She encouraged financial service providers in the country to work together towards the betterment of Malawi's economy and the achievement of the Malawi 2063 economic goals.
Duncan Phulusa, the Chief Executive Officer for the Malawi Microfinance Network, praised Airtel Money Malawi for its support of the Microfinance Annual Lake Conference 2023.
"Malawi Microfinance Network and its entire membership are delighted with the support of K1.5 million received from Airtel Money towards the inaugural Microfinance Annual Lake Conference 2023. This is a pure manifestation of the collaborative working relationship that exists between the microfinance institutions and Airtel Money in the financial inclusion drive for the benefit of our rural clients, and we remain grateful," Phulusa said.
