Airtel Malawi Donates MWK 10 Million to Presidential Charity Golf Tournament

Lilongwe, Malawi - Airtel Malawi Plc has made a generous donation of K10 million towards the upcoming Presidential Charity Golf Tournament, scheduled for Saturday, October 21, 2023, at the Lilongwe Golf Club, writes Moses Nyirenda.
The event, themed 'Swing to Serve,' is an initiative by President Lazarus Chakwera to support vulnerable tertiary students and survivors of cyclone Freddy and other natural disasters.
In a press statement issued by Airtel Malawi, the company highlighted the alignment of this initiative with its corporate social responsibility of supporting and uplifting communities, particularly vulnerable groups, and promoting education in the country.
Airtel Malawi's Managing Director, Charles Kamoto, emphasized the importance of contributing to the country's development and assisting in the rebuilding process after the devastating effects of Cyclone Freddy.
Kamoto expressed confidence that Airtel Malawi's donation would help alleviate the challenges faced by cyclone victims and enable financially disadvantaged students to continue their education.
Norah Nsanja, one of the fundraising officials for the Presidential Charity Golf Tournament, expressed her gratitude to Airtel Malawi for their generous support.
She praised the company for responding to President Chakwera's call to aid the underprivileged, particularly Cyclone Freddy victims and needy tertiary students.
