Airtel Celebrates Selfless Malawians in ZiliMwaIfe Campaign Finale
Airtel Malawi concludes its ZiliMwaIfe campaign, recognizing and rewarding individuals who have positively impacted their communities through self-sponsored interventions.
LILONGWE, Malawi- Airtel Malawi has successfully concluded its ZiliMwaIfe campaign, a year-long initiative aimed at uncovering and celebrating the selfless individuals who have made a positive difference in the lives of others in Malawi through their own sponsored interventions, writes Moses Nyirenda.
During the closing ceremony held in Lilongwe on Tuesday, Airtel's Managing Director, Charles Kamoto, expressed the company's excitement over the impact of the ZiliMwaIfe campaign on selfless Malawians.
He stated, "We are very excited. We had objectives for the ZiliMwaIfe campaign, and among them, we wanted to unearth the selfless people that exist in this country, and who do things to benefit others. We wanted to celebrate them and reward them for their selfless efforts."
Kamoto further said that the campaign aimed to showcase these individuals to the world, encouraging other companies and institutions to recognise and contribute to their efforts.
He highlighted the fulfilment of these objectives throughout the campaign, stating, "As Airtel, we are really very excited that we have achieved our objectives."
The Airtel Managing Director extended his appreciation to the public for their active participation in discovering and supporting the individuals involved in the campaign.
He said, "Malawians did not leave us alone; they participated in bringing the stories and voting for the best stories. We are very excited and grateful for their involvement."
Malumbo Harawa, one of the five individuals who made it to the final round of the ZiliMwaIfe campaign, expressed gratitude to Airtel Malawi for organising the initiative.
Harawa, who was awarded K12 million for his remarkable work in repairing oxygen concentrators and other life-saving equipment in various hospitals across the country, shared his perspective.
"I thank Airtel for the ZiliMwaIfe campaign because it has boosted my capacity to reach many communities. The project we are doing aims to help communities, so when this kind of support comes, we know that we can extend our reach to even more communities," Harawa explained.
Airtel's ZiliMwaIfe campaign has successfully highlighted and honoured the selflessness and impactful contributions of individuals in Malawi, empowering them to continue their valuable work in serving and improving their communities.
