Airtel Africa, Cisco Partner on Business Connectivity
The service aims to replace legacy networking models that can constrain growth.
BARCELONA, Spain— Airtel Africa has collaborated with Cisco Systems to provide secure network connectivity solutions for businesses across Africa, writes Moses Nyirenda.
The partnership, announced on 27 February, 2024, will offer Network-as-a-Service (NaaS) through Airtel Business Africa.
NaaS enables organizations to access networking capabilities on demand without investing in hardware.
“As Africa transitions digitally, businesses will require a fusion of connectivity, mobility, security and cloud,” said Airtel Business Africa CEO Oliver Fortuin.
NaaS will help modernize operations for businesses through rapid deployment of networks that can scale based on needs, Fortuin said.
"Airtel Africa's NaaS offerings, powered by Cisco's cutting-edge platforms, promise to revolutionize connectivity,” he said.
The service aims to replace legacy networking models that can constrain growth.
Cisco seeks to reduce networking complexities and securely connect organizations in Africa through this collaboration, said President of Cisco's Asia Pacific and Japan service provider business Vish Iyer.
The partnership promises to “reshape the future of business connectivity,” according to an Airtel/Cisco statement.
